Stone Brewing has filed for another lawsuit against another brewer.
Nothing new offcourse, but still they are not making themselves more popular these days by constantly draging other brewery's into long court battles over anything they dont like. There is still a lawsuit ongoing against Millercoor's (Keystone) for using the word Stone in their name since 2018.
I guess they were seeking a new source of revenue as they now seek damages against Sawstone brewing for using the word stone in their name also.
Offcourse Stone brewing has a trademark since 1996 on the name Stone Brewing (and Bastard, from Arrogant Bastard ale's), but it seems a bit harsh since the word Stone is a normal everyday used word. At the moment they have has dispute's against multiple brewers, and another 100 other brands, some not even beer related.
So if you are thinking about creating a brewery yourselve, or naming a beer then please watch out using the word Stone in it. For other words associated with it, i would suggest to watch some episodes of The Flintstone's as there are a lot of other good options there :-).
