We at Colossal Cat Brewing hope you have had good holidays, and a good and happy new year celebration. We all have had our share of struggles in 2020 due to the corona outbreak. Countries have been in lockdown, businesses had to close down for long periods and some are still closed and look towards an uncertain future.
We as a homebrewer, have had some extra time to start brewing some good beers and trying out new flavors. We actually had some great reviews on our Terra Stout, so good we wanted to perfect it and even use it as a base stout for some great Oak Aged versions. So our 10th beer is our Terra Nova, or new terra, wich has the same base with only a higher abv. We upped it from 5.8 abv to 9.6 abv for an even greater Stout experience.
We also decided to split the batch so we have the opportunity to try out our first Oak Aged version. First this first version we used a very popular and good Bunnahabhain Stiuireadair whisky on heavy french oak. The smell was awesome when we put in in the fermenter so we have very good expectations indeed.
We allready have had a great time tasting even more whisky's for our Oak Aged versions. Its allways a tough decision to choose good one's with good reputation, but not right away starting with 100+ euro bottles. But we are going to surprise you with the 10 we have allready put on american oak, for our future batches.
Keep our new beers in mind, they will be in limited runs.
